It has come to our attention that some school districts and charter schools have begun entering October enrollments into the Educational Materials (EMAT/EVI) system prematurely. Please wait until November 2 to begin entering this information. Textbook coordinators from all districts are required to enter their enrollments as of the last school day of October 2009 (October 30) for each grade and subject area in the EMAT/EVI system. On November 2, a column will be available in EMAT/EVI called “October Ending Count.” Before November 2, that column is not available in EMAT/EVI and any schools that have entered enrollments under “Current Count” will need to go back into the system and reenter enrollments under the correct column, “October Ending Count.” If the end of October populations are not entered and surplus is not declared, district and charter schools will not be able to order materials next school year (2010-11).
